Add time entries directly to your timesheet using the New button when you don't need the live timer. This method is perfect for entering time after the fact, batch-entering multiple entries for different dates, or when you prefer manual time entry over real-time tracking.
Sometimes you need to add time without starting the timer—maybe you forgot to track yesterday's work, you're entering time from paper notes, or you're adding multiple entries at once. The New button on the Time screen makes this quick and easy, letting you create time entries for any date directly in your timesheet.
Add Time Entries Using the New Button
Navigate to the Time screen by clicking the Time tab in MinuteDock. Your Time screen displays all your logged time entries organized by date, with each day showing as a date header (like "Monday, 26 August").
Create a New Entry
When you hover your mouse over any date header, a New button appears on the right side of that date row. Click this button to create a blank time entry for that specific date.
The new entry appears as an editable row under your chosen date, ready for you to fill in the details.
Fill in Your Time Entry Details
Click anywhere on the new time entry row to start editing:
Add duration: Type your time amount (Hours: Minutes) into the righthand field
Assign to a Contact: Use the dropdown menu to assign the Time Entry to a Contact
Add a Project/Task: Type

and search to apply relevant a relevant Project and/or Tasks to the time entryInclude notes: Add a description of the work performed in the main text field.
Save Your Entry
Once you've added all the details, click the checkmark icon (✓) at the right end of the time entry row to save your changes.

Alternative: Backdating from the Dock
While this guide focuses on the New button method, you can also create backdated entries using the Dock (the timer bar at the top of your screen):
Type your time and description in the Dock as usual
Add a date in brackets to specify when the work was done:
(yesterday)
for yesterday's date(last Friday)
for the previous Friday(July 4)
for a specific date(25/12/24)
using DD/MM/YY format
Click Log to save the entry to that date
If you've already logged an entry and need to change its date, simply click the entry in your timesheet to edit it, then use the calendar picker to select a new date.
