Manage your Wave integration settings to customize invoicing behavior.
Configuring Wave Integration Settings
Customize how MinuteDock creates invoices in Wave by setting default products and services at the Account, Contact, Project, or Task level.
Setting Default Integration Services
Configure a default Wave service that applies to all invoice line items unless overridden by specific Contact, Project, or Task settings.
Access integration settings - Click the Wave link at the top of your MinuteDock screen
Set default service - Choose a default Wave service from your available products and services
Save settings - Your default will now apply to all invoice line items
ℹ️ Note: This default applies to all invoicing unless you've set specific services for individual Contacts, Projects, or Tasks.
How Tax Settings Work
Wave products and services can include default tax settings that will automatically apply to your MinuteDock invoices.
💡 Tip: If you've configured default tax rates for your Wave products or services, these will automatically apply to invoice line items in MinuteDock.
Managing Contact, Project, and Task Services
Assign specific Wave products or services to individual Contacts, Projects, or Tasks to override the default integration setting.
Setting Contact-Specific Services
Go to Contacts - Click the Contacts tab in MinuteDock
Find your Contact - Use the search bar if you have many Contacts
Open Contact settings - Hover over the Contact and click the edit button
Configure Wave service - Scroll to the Wave integration settings section at the bottom
Select service - Choose a specific Wave product or service for this Contact
Save changes - Click save to apply your settings
✅ Success! This Contact will now use the assigned service for all invoice line items, unless overridden by Project or Task settings.
Setting Project and Task Services
Follow the same process for Projects and Tasks to create more specific service assignments.
For Projects:
Go to Projects - Click the Projects tab in MinuteDock
Edit Project - Find and click edit on your chosen Project
Set Wave service - Choose the appropriate service in the Wave settings section
Save changes - Click save to apply
For Tasks:
Go to Tasks - Click the Tasks subtab under the main Projects tab
Edit Task - Find and click edit on your chosen Task
Set Wave service - Choose the appropriate service in the Wave settings section
Save changes - Click save to apply
Service Priority Hierarchy
MinuteDock applies Wave services in this order of priority:
Task-specific service (highest priority)
Project-specific service
Contact-specific service
Default integration service (lowest priority)
ℹ️ Note: More specific settings always override more general ones. A Task service will override Project, Contact, and default settings.
