Reports FAQs

Frequently asked questions about running time reports in MinuteDock.

Why can't I see my team's time in reports?

You need the "Report On Others' Time" permission to view other users' entries in reports. Check with your admin that your permissions include this.

See Manage User Permissions for a breakdown of what each permission allows.

Why doesn't my report total match what I see on the dashboard?

Check your report filters — the date range, user selection, Contact, Project, and Task filters all affect what's included.

Also check the Options filter for whether you're including or excluding unbillable time, as this can cause totals to differ from what you see on your time log or dashboard.

How do I export report data to a spreadsheet?

Run your report, then click the Export button at the top of the page to download the full report as a CSV file.

You can also export individual charts by hovering over them and clicking the CSV button in the corner. Open the downloaded file in Excel or your preferred spreadsheet app.

Can I report on billed vs unbilled time separately?

Yes. Use the Options filter in Reports to choose between billable time, unbillable time, or both.

You can also check the invoiced/uninvoiced status of entries by viewing the time entries list within your report.

How do date ranges work in reports — what counts as "this week" or "this month"?

"This week" runs Monday to Sunday. "This month" is the current calendar month. The same applies to other preset ranges like "last week" and "last month."

If you need a specific date range, you can set custom start and end dates in the report filters.

How do I make a bulk or global change to a lot of historic Time Entries (for example, after re-categorising a Task as billable)?

MinuteDock doesn't have a single bulk-edit screen, but you can use Reports to surface and edit the entries quickly. Go to the Reports screen, filter to the exact entries you want to change (for example by Task, Contact, User, or date range), then switch the report view to show individual Time Entries rather than the summary chart. From there, click into each entry to edit it — changes are saved straight back to the original Time Entry on the Timesheet.

If the entries are locked (because of an Account lockout date or because they're attached to a sent Invoice), an Admin will need to unlock them first. See Locking and Unlocking Time Entries. For larger one-off rewrites across hundreds of entries, our team can run a bulk update for you — email team@minutedock.com with the change you need.

How do I see which Users worked on a job that was billed in a previous year?

Use Reports to look up the historical billed time. Go to the Reports screen, set the date range to the period the work was done (for example all of 2024), filter to the relevant Contact (and Project, if you need to narrow further), and switch the Options filter to include only invoiced time. The report will show the breakdown by User, Task, and Time Entry, and you can drill into each entry to confirm who logged it.

You can also open the Invoice itself from the Invoices screen — the Invoice page lists every Time Entry attached to it. Combine the two views if you want to confirm an exact match between a sent invoice and the Users who worked on it.
