Easier way to dock time for past days

July 10, 2014

Sometimes you forget to log your time, it happens to the best of us. The MinuteDock philosophy is to track time as you go, but we still work great if you want to log your time retroactively!

If you've done this before, you'll know that you have two options: either log an entry and change the date by editing it, or type in something like "(dd/mm/yyyy)" or "(last Wed)" in the dock bar to have it interpret the date for you. It works, but sometimes it can be a bit clunky, depending on your typing speed.

Well, good news! We've just released a little improvement to the time tab which should make this easier!

If you hover over each day, you'll see an option to "Dock" it. What that will do is automatically assign that day to your current docked entry, letting you quickly go through and assign time to specific days as your logging.

We'll also now show a group for all days of the week, regardless of whether you've logged time or not. If there's no time, we'll let you know and give you a quick link to dock some if you'd like!

Oh, and one more thing...

At long last the "Just Now" group is gone. Docked time will automatically go to the correct day group instantly on the Time tab, without you having to reload the page. Sorry it took so long to sort that one out! Hopefully this will make a few of you happy :-)
